About

I am a designer and artist, and derive inspiration from abstract expressionism and biomorphism. Through my painting, I explore ambiguous organic motifs, shapes, and forms that evoke individual associations for the viewer.

Through the push and pull of acrylic on panel, my compositions incorporate nonuniform pattern, texture, printing, and mark making. I enjoy using limited complementary color palettes to create harmony. I typically work on a series of pieces at once, and enjoy iterating on a theme.

I apply different acrylic mediums for different brush stroke effects, and employ techniques such as washes, glazing, and splattering to create rich layers, detail, and depth.

A Wisconsin native, my love of art started at a young age, with a passion for drawing animals and nature. My family and teachers fostered my skills, encouraging me to experiment with many different mediums, including drawing, painting and sculpture. This continued through my college studies at the University of WI Madison. In that time, I also discovered graphic design, which I ultimately pursued as a career.

Through the years, I have maintained a passion for fine art, continuing to paint as time permits, and delight in the intersection of painting, printing, design, and color theory.
